Next month Google Reader will be gone for good. If you haven't found a replacement for it yet, you should do so soon. I have already started using Bloglovin and do indeed LOV it!
Instead of me trying to muddle my way through explaining the ins and outs of Bloglovin, I found THE BEST tutorial over at Nutrition Ella. Check her out!

Say It With Flowers Blog Hop entry
June 3rd is my day to show you my entry for the "Say It With Flowers Blog Hop." I would like to thank Madame Samm from Sew We Quilt and Carol from Just Let Me Quilt for allowing me to join such a fun blog hop. Our sponsor is Andover Fabrics.
I've been wanting to make a "tree wall hanging" for a long time now and thought this would be a great time to do so, changing out leaves for flowers :) I ironed on the fusible web to 3 colors of fabric and then got out the Cricut!
I was able to cut 3 flowers with the Cricut but then it got stubborn and would not cooperate, so I hand cut the rest.
Then I peeled off the paper backing and ironed the tree and flowers to the front of the white fabric.
For the binding I used Rae's "pretend binding" tutorial at Made By Rae. Very easy to follow.
Here is what I thought was the finished product. But every time I looked at it, it was missing something.
These are closeups of the extras I added to the flowers.
Here is the mini quilt with tabs and below is the new version with added red buttons. I did not try any quilting in the white spaces as I was petrified of totally ruining the project. Would you have added some quilting? and if so, what type?
Now it is finished. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog :) Please continue to see the rest of the hop :)

New blog hop
Yup, I've done it again. Signed up for another blog hop. I love these because I get a chance to try something new without a huge committment. It's for the Birds blog hop runs from May 7-15. We can make anything we want but it has to "have a bird on it" :) My mind is racing with ideas...I always want to try something original or different.
Click the link on the right to sign up! See you in May :)

2013 goals
Okay, so it's a new year... and I wanted to start the year off right with sewing and posting goals. I, like a lot of other sewers, have a lot of UFO's. We love to start new projects but never seem to finish them. Well, this year is MY YEAR to finish my UFO's!!!! (yelling at the top of my lungs.....but hearing an echo LOL) I don't have a lot of them, but the ones I do have, have been kicking around for quite awhile!
What about you guys? Are you making similar goals? or none at all?

100 day hustle FINAL
Happy New Years' Eve everyone :) I thought I would quickly pop in to let you know that even though I had ONLY 3 projects to finish by today December 31, I only finished 1. It was the baby quilt for my friend Heather, who had a beautiful baby boy Benjamin :) Maybe next year will be more productive!
I want to say Congratulations to everyone else who participated and actually got all or most of their projects completed!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2013!!!
I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2013! I thought I would post a picture of my beautiful granddaughters helping Nanny with the Christmas tree.
This is my fun tree we have downstairs. My traditional "real" tree is upstairs.

Working on my PhD!
Today I saw a caption that totally explains what I'm doing or "not doing" LOL I'm working on my PhD. (Projects Half Done). Actually I'm starting a lot of PhD's!
In September I started thinking about sewing again. So, looking through blog land I found a few challenges to get me started.
The first challenge was the Wicked Blog Hop in October. We were to make a "wicked" quilt block. I made a spider web quilt block.
The second challenge was the Holiday Lane Pillow Blog Hop in November. We were given the cutest pattern and asked to make a pillow. Although I finished the front, I did not finish the pillow.
The third challenge was and still is, the 100 Day Hustle, with Kelsey Sews. For this one, we were (are) to make a list of unfinished projects we wanted to finish by December 31, 2012. I had 3 projects listed. I only listed 3 because I thought that would be more achievable. HAHAHAHAHAHAHH was I wrong...
I will finish 1 of those projects...the baby quilt for my friend... I still have 13 days left to finish, so let's stay positive!!!! Cindy, you will attempt to finish these last 2 projects, and if you don't, THAT'S OK!!!!
How are you doing with your projects?
